People are asking, What does GOD expect of us... well here is what Lukewarm vs in HIS Will looks like: What the LUKEWARM Fence sitters LOOK LIKE:
The Lord has clearly told us what the lukewarm Christians look like. Everyone thinks that lukewarm church is that one down the street or the one that the in-laws go to. Here is what the Lord has revealed in various ways at various times what lukewarm Christians and the lukewarm church look like ~ The lukewarm are people who snack on His word-they might get an internet devotion or one sent to their i-phone everyday and read it-they are getting morsels of the Word and not devouring a feast of the Word everyday. They might put off reading their bible to one of the last things at night if they are reading at all. The Lord wants us looking forward to what HE has to speak to us through the Word and wants us reading His Word as early in the day as possible or at a time of the day when we are alert and able to receive what He has to say to us. The lukewarm probably pray at meals but not too much at other times except when they are in trouble. The Lord wants us speaking to Him throughout the day like He is our Best Friend and like He is with us always not just when we are eating or in trouble. The lukewarm are busy, busy with activities~maybe mission trips, teaching classes, on the church board, decorating the church. They are busy 'doing things for God' but not focusing on having a relationship with Him. The Lord does not want our religion or our works, He wants us in an intimate relationship with Him. The lukewarm may think that the more they make the happier God will be with them because they can make more money for Him. News flash: God does not need our money. The Lord calls this a prosperity gospel. This is what GOD's prosperity gospel looks like: He will drain your bank account to keep you out of hell. He does not need our money nor our religion. The lukewarm read secular books (and yes, ones about vampires), they watch secular tv shows and listen to secular music and are really into them, they will go to the movie theaters and football games and are very happy at malls and plan out way in advance for vacations and all kinds of outings. There is too little time just to be quiet in the presence of the Lord. The Lord, though, wants us to pursue Him and have quiet time with Him. He wants us to turn off the devices that produce noise and just have silence and talk to Him. He wants us to pursue others for Him. If we are at a football game or the mall then we better be pursuing others for Him while we are there. We need to look at every outing as an opportunity to further the kingdom not just for our own pleasure. The lukewarm believe that the moves of the Holy Spirit ~ tongues, interpretation of tongues, laying on of hands for healing, prophecy, dreams and visions were for another time but not for today. The Lord wants us to know that we are in the end times and He is pouring out His Holy Spirit on the earth to bring others to Him. He is giving His children these spiritual gifts today. Churches that disallow the moves of the Holy Spirit and block the moves of the Spirit out might as well kick Jesus out, too, the Lord says. The lukewarm believe they don't have to worry about the times we are in, if the Lord comes back they are 'good to go'. The Lord wants you to know He will only take in the rapture those that are on the edge of their seats watching and waiting for Him to return and are completely filled with the Holy Spirit and pursuing Him as their only HOPE. The lukewarm are involved in churches that are planning out the next church addition, the gymnasium add on, the new cafe or coffee house addition to the church. They are pursuing opulence instead of putting all resources and energies into pursuing Him and others for Him. Pursuing opulence is an abomination to God. News flash: We are in the end times. The Lord wants us to pursue Him with our every breath. He wants us reading our bibles-really digging in. He wants us to pray to Him throughout the day. He wants us sharing our faith with others which can look different according to our personality but He wants us doing it. He wants us to share our faith with the people right in front of us - the ones three feet away from us. He does not want us planning out for that mission trip a year away and then we will share our faith with others He wants us to do it right now, where we are at. God wants us pursuing Him and praying for and pursuing others right in front of us for Him. Mt. 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' "And then I will declare to them, 'l NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' These people in this verse who cast out demons and performed miracles were doing so but were not pursuing a relationship with Him this is why He casts them out--it is about the relationship not a religion or works alone. Acts 2:17 'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.'
